What's it all about? The Northern Short Story Festival Academy is a development programme which helps short story writers to take their writing to the next level, and for the first time it is open to any writer who is based in the North of England. Perhaps you've published a few stories already, in print or online, or had stories placed or longlisted in competitions. If you're serious about short story writing, aged 18+ and are resident in the North of England we want to hear from you! Participants will join a monthly workshop critique group, from January-June 2023, led by writer Anna Chilvers, where they will read and critique each others' stories. The workshop group will take place once a month on a Monday evening via Zoom. This is a rare development opportunity for short story writers. Places on the scheme are limited and entry is by application only. Applications are open until midnight this Friday, 7th October 2022. It's completely free. For information on eligibility, and details of how to apply, please read here. The Northern Short Story Festival Academy is part of The Northern Short Story Festival and Leeds Big Bookend, and is supported by Arts@Leeds, part of Leeds City Council, and the Walter Swan Trust. |
